MISSION STATEMENT
VISION: Transparency of company payments and government revenues from the extractive industries (oil, gas and mining) in Nigeria.
GOAL: To ensure that the transparent and accountable management of natural resource revenues so that such income serves as a basis for sustainable economic development and poverty reduction in Nigeria.
 
OBJECTIVES
a.
To build a dynamic and competent civil society coalition to engage with the federal, state and local governments, the extractive industry, international financial institutions, donors and other relevant stakeholders in support of processes aiming to improve transparency and accountability in the reporting and management of natural resource revenues;
b.
To actively and independently monitor the implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Nigeria by providing constructive analysis of the process by which natural resource revenues are disclosed, reconciled and reported publicly, and to build and maintain open and fruitful dialogue with the National Stakeholder Working Group (NSWG) and NEITI Secretariat to work towards the initiative’s success;
c.
To promote the mass mobilization and sensitization of the Nigerian people, especially within host communities of oil producing regions, to the PWYP campaign, the NEITI and other related efforts, including working with the media;
d.
To build the capacities and skills of civil society organisations to monitor the publication and expenditure of natural resource revenues through advocacy activities and applied budget analysis;
e.
To work with civil society partners throughout the country, in Africa and around the world to ensure that the international financial institutions (including the World Bank and IMF) and other bilateral and multilateral donor agencies promote revenue transparency in a systematic and comprehensive way by making company and country level support conditional on revenue transparency;
